Este sábado 6 de diciembre, la Sala de Prensa Vaticana, ha comunicado que el Papa León XIV ha designado al Arzobispo de Buenos Aires, Mons. Jorge Ignacio García Cuerva, Delegado Pontificio para la International Commission of Catholic Prision Pastoral Care (ICCPPC).

Este organismo fue fundado en un congreso internacional, convocado en Roma en el Año Santo de 1950, por el Secretario de Estado (futuro Papa Pablo VI) y se propone servir con espíritu evangélico a las comunidades carcelarias. A su vez, esta comisión depende hoy del Dicasterio para el Servicio del Desarrollo Humano Integral.

Last January 31st, Rome became a living laboratory for the future of governance. 100 young leaders from 36 countries gathered for the conclusion of the first year of “One Humanity, One Planet”, a global political school promoted by the MPPU, New Humanity, and the Pontifical Commission for Latin America.
The highlight? An audience with the Holy Father, who didn’t just encourage these leaders—he recognized their mission. He challenged them to look at the world through the lens of listening and to build policies that involve every citizen, especially the excluded. 🕊️🏛️
From an intense Political Hackathon tackling corruption and the ecological emergency to profound dialogues with Focolare President Margaret Karram, these seven days proved that a “”politics of the WE”” is already beginning.
As Cristian Garcìa shared: “It is the most important experience of universal fraternity of my life... a symphony of global harmony.”
Now, the journey expands to involve 600 young people across five continents. The message is clear: another kind of politics isn’t just possible, it has already started.
