Les Grandes Misères de la guerre (French: [lɛ ɡʁɑ̃d mizɛʁ də la ɡɛʁ]; English: The Great Miseries of War or The Miseries and Misfortunes of War) are a series of 18 etchings by Lorrainian artist Jacques Callot (1592–1635), titled in full Les Misères et les Malheurs de la Guerre. Despite the grand theme of the series, the images are in fact only about 83 mm × 180 mm (3.25 x 7 inches) each, and are called the "large" Miseries to distinguish them from an even smaller earlier set on the same subject.
The series was published in 1633, is Callot's best-known work, and has been called the first "anti-war statement" in European art.

The consensus among Christians on the use of violence has changed radically since the crusades were fought. The just war theory prevailing for most of the last two centuries—that violence is an evil that can, in certain situations, be condoned as the lesser of evils—is relatively young. Although it has inherited some elements (the criteria of legitimate authority, just cause, right intention) from the older war theory that first evolved around AD 400, it has rejected two premises that underpinned all medieval just wars, including crusades: first, that violence could be employed on behalf of Christ's intentions for mankind and could even be directly authorized by him; and second, that it was a morally neutral force that drew whatever ethical coloring it had from the intentions of the perpetrators.

Collab.Land burst onto the scene in May 2020, redefining how online communities connect when the world was forced to go virtual. As DAOs stepped into the spotlight as the future of collaboration, Collab.Land became the indispensable tool for managing tokenized memberships with ease. During DeFi Summer 2020, we powered investment groups; by Spring 2021, we were at the heart of the NFT explosion. Today, gaming guilds, blockchain protocols, NFT juggernauts, DeFi innovators, and DAOs worldwide rely on Collab.Land to lead the token-gated experience. We don't just adapt to Web3—Collab.Land defines what's next.

#pilgrim_id Project
🌍 International Pilgrim ID
🎯 Project Goal

To create an international non-profit organization or project group developing a decentralized digital identity on the blockchain that will be able to:

Certify the identity of a traveler/pilgrim/emigrant without being tied to a national passport.

Provide access to services and discounts on pilgrimage routes (hotels, transport, food, museums, temples).

Work as a loyalty card and a savings system with tokens (the digital currency of the project).

In the future, replace the functions of a traditional foreign passport using the "Nansen passports" model.

👥 Target audience (first stage)

Catholic pilgrims from different countries traveling to Rome, Santiago de Compostela, Jerusalem, etc.

Tourists on religious and cultural routes in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East.

Later — all travelers and migrants who need a digital ID.

🛠️ Technological base

Use of open-source solutions and international standards for DID (Decentralized Identifiers) and VC (Verifiable Credentials):

I. Basic DID platforms:

Hyperledger Indy — a reliable base for managing DID and VC.

Sovrin — a global identification network with VC support.

uPort / Stacks / Veres One — compatibility and multiplatform.

II. Libraries:

didkit (universal SDK + CLI).

did-jwt and vc-js for working with cryptography and verification.

III. Blockchain layer:

Polygon / Ethereum Layer-2 — optimal in terms of speed and fees.

Integration with Cardano and Polkadot is possible for interoperability.

⚙️ Solution architecture

DID Wallet (application)

Storage of a digital passport (Pilgrim ID).

Management of tokens/loyalty points.

QR scanner for presenting an ID and receiving discounts.

Blockchain Layer

DID + VC based on Hyperledger Indy / Polygon.

Smart contracts for loyalty tokens.

Partner Network

Temples, hotels, transport companies, cafes, museums.

Special discounts for Pilgrim ID holders.

Organizational level

International NGO with headquarters (for example, in Rome or Geneva).

A council including representatives of the Church, IT sector, tourism, human rights organizations.

💡 Unique advantage

Combination of passport function + loyalty card + crypto token.

Promotion through Catholic and tourist networks.

Social mission: access to an identity card for those who are deprived of it (analogous to Nansen passports).
